The Bee Series

$4,000.00

four archival pigment prints on stretched canvas, 24 x 36 inches (60.9 x 91.4 cm), edition of 3 / 1 artist proof, made in NYC: 2017

Lifelong tracks of a single bumble bee, based on primary data collected by the post-graduate students of Lars Chittka at Queen Mary University in London England, were gathered using four harmonic radar tracking devices, one for each bee.

Geographic information is cast within an Albers Conic projection, with an open source programming language called R  and a package called Deldir, to create a fluid scale image of a bumble bee’s world, with two dimensional Voronoi geometry.
